The National President of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Hon Iju Tony Nwabunike on Wednesday, disclosed that anyone member of the association parading himself or herself as a Board of Trustees (BoT) member as has been declared a court of competent jurisdiction in the country.

He said untill that judgement of the Federal High Court is vacated of the Court of Appeal, the has no BoT for now untill an election for new members of the BoT is conducted.

Nwabunike who spoke with   newsmen in Lagos,  said that the association as at today has no “Board of Trustees” and “I dont recognise anybody as such because I will also go to jail if I do”.

He said: “Let me say that as at February this year, the whole board of ANLCA tenure had expired; anybody parading himself as board member is  risking jail.

“As far as we are concerned board members of the association finished their six year tenure in February 2020. If a court gives me an order to bring them back I will not say no to court. Rather what I got was even a court judgment restraining me from recognising anybody again as board members and that is the latest order from the court.

“Infact am risking jail if I should sit down with anybody called BoT members until an appeal court revised the decision.

The ANLCA boss reiterated that there is no in-fighting  among the National Executive Council of association adding that information dissemination will be streamlined and approved by the President.

Reacting to the rumours of allegedmsavking of the entire National Executive Council (NEC) of ANLCA, he maintained that persons involved in  the court injunction are not financial members of the association since 2018, adding that the leadership of the association is intact, the peopkemwjo reportedly secured the said court order are in the first place qualified to be called members of the association.

According to him, assuming Fakanlu Olumide and John Nwagbaraocha are qualified to sue the association, their case will still fail as the constitution of the association provides for exhausting of internal mechanisms before approaching the courts

The Board of Trustees affected include the order of the Court are the following :
Henry Njoku
